  Muslim Academy would like to congratulate Ehab, an Egyptian architect who happens to be Christian and Muslim Academy podcaster/blogger, who took place in a Norweigan radio show. The topic of the show was misconceptions between Europe, North America, and the Middle East. Ehab cleared some very strange misconceptions, including Mexicans living in cacti and Egyptians living in Pyramids.

• illama iqbal poetry

  One of the greatest philosophers of Islam in modern times is Sir Mohammed Iqbal (1877-1938), also called the ‘Poet of the East’ (Shayar-e-Mashriq). He is the national poet of Pakistan as well as the composer of one of India’s most popular patriotic songs (Tarana-e-Hind i.e. The Song of India). His poems, in Urdu and Persian, reflect his philosophy of Islam and his idea of ‘the self’ (Khudi). Two of his greatest works are ‘Shikwa‘ (The Remonstration) and ‘Jawab-e-Shikwa’ (The Response). Another great work is ‘Tere Ishq Ki Inteha‘ (The Limits of Your Love). These three poems are addressed to God. The third is an excellent work of poetry in Urdu which captures beautifully the Islamic conception of Divine Love (Ishq). No translation in English, and perhaps any other language, can capture the beauty and depth of this poem and this is but a poor attempt to explain the ten lines of the poem here to the best extent my limited understanding of Iqbal’s Urdu poetry allows.The poet writes,“The limits of your Love is what I desire; Look at my naivete, to what I aspire;“.What the poet implies here is that Ishq i.e. Love for God has no limits. It can be infinite. Yet, he wants to achieve the unachievable – crossing the limits of Ishq whereas Ishq has no limits. After all, can there be something greater than what is infinite? Thus, so naive and full of love is he that he wants to have more of this love.

  The eAdventure platform is a research project aiming to facilitate the integration of educational games and game-like simulations in educational processes in general and Virtual Learning Environments (VLE) in particular. It is being developed by the e-UCM e-learning research group at Universidad Complutense de Madrid, with three main objectives: Reduction of the development costs for educational games Incorporation of education-specific features in game development tools Integration of the resulting games with existing courseware in Virtual Learning Environments From this website we wish to promote the use of the tools developed as part of the eAdventure project. The core of the eAdventure project is the eAdventure educational game engine, that runs games defined using the eAdventure language. Authors can use the graphical editor to create the games or directly access the human-readable source documents that describe the adventures using XML markup. With eAdventure, any person can write an educational point & click adventure game.

• Challenging the Model of 1:1 with BYOD | Edutopia

  This year my school district in Vermont ventured into a sort-of BYOD/1:1 hybrid program. We realized the importance of allowing our students access to technology to enhance their learning, but the infrastructure wasn't in place to tackle a traditional BYOD. .. Instead, we chose to be creative with our technology and professional development.

  • We used money from our technology budget and constructed a model to supply teachers with a mix of mobile devices, mostly laptops and iPads, and teachers applied to take part in a mixed device technology-integration pilot program.
  • like a traditional 1:1 program, devices are spread to students throughout the room, but instead of each student receiving an assigned device, classes are left to select the appropriate tool for every assignment.
  • Teachers are now free to explore innovative and creative ways to structure their time, activities, lessons and interactions with students.
  • we start each meeting with the curriculum goals and content, and then we brainstorm ways that we can enhance the content by using these new tools
  • Rather than have our teachers sit through in-service presentations on how to effectively integrate their new devices, we decided to work together to find the best ways to use the devices with their students and their curriculum.
  • This collaborative, co-teaching model has allowed for us to find connections across content areas, classes and our district.
